Anyone who is anyone must be aware of Marimekko. Established in 1951, this Finnish textile design company began designing and manufacturing beautiful, Scandinavian-inspired, clothing, interior decoration textiles, accessories and tableware. They are, in fact, gods.
I wanted to share with you one of their ranges which I have liked for ages and ages, and have been meaning to feature for some time. Say hello to the Oiva tableware collection below…also known as In Good Company… It’s what Marimekko want you to do – to enjoy this collection while enjoying good company! The collection has been designed by Sami Ruotsalainen, a graduate of the University of Art and Design Helsinki with a Master’s Degree in ceramic and glass design. It’s gorgeous isn’t it?
To find your local Marimekko outlet, have a look here and pay them a visit – d e f i n i t e l y worthwhile!

I confess I am biased, as my mother is Finnish, so I am a huge fan of Scandinavian (and especially Finnish!) design. Having spent a couple of weeks there over the summer I was reminded how you cannot go to any Finnish house without finding at least something by Marimekko. Love it!

Hej hej!
I am trying to recall where I found this picture.. I was sure I found it on the Marimekko website.. but it isn’t there now, which makes me think that perhaps I found it elsewhere! If I can track it down, i’ll let you know! It’s lovely, isn’t it?!!!!
Your shop is wonderful by the way! It really is!
